Tim Barnes is a Los Angeles born Brooklyn-based comedian and writer whose absurdist humor brings light to social issues from unexpected angles. He currently writes for Comedy Central.
Tim has written for The AV Club, the NPR quiz show, Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! and even documented his testicles once for Men’s Health. He served as web producer for season one of the HBO series Wyatt Cenac’s Problem Areas. Chicago Magazine named Tim one of the 16 Chicago Comics You Should Check Out… and The Chicago Tribune has described him as “a smooth wordsmith who is sharp, polished and confident…”
With his comedy career beginning in 2011 after friends dared him to open for their band in L.A., Tim soon moved to Illinois with fellow comic Ian Abramson, working together on web series’ for Dr. Katz creator, Tom Snyder, and becoming fixtures of the Chicago comedy scene (only to abandon the windy city years later for the pursuit of the lost comedy city of El Dorado).
